| fall quarter started monday.
my schedule (16 credits):
Microeconomics 10:30-11:20 History of Civilizations 11:30-12:20 Film as Literature 12:30-2:40 (MW) Intro to Golf 12:30-2:20 (Tues)
Overall a pretty good schedule. I get to wait to leave until after rush hour. I get home at a reasonable time. I get to hit golf balls once a week.
Now that I'm a few days into classes, I've made the ever-important first impressions. I like to wait until after syllabus day and "what is" day, usually the first couple days of class. (I love that in most classes you can expect to spend the first day going over the syllabus, then the second day is the "what is" day. i.e. "What is literature?/subject in the title of the class?/the easiest way to introduce the topic to you" discussion.) I've already discussed what economics is and what constitutes a civilization and what it is the professor expects from the class and what the correct way to hold a golf club is.
The classes shouldn't be too hard, and will hopefully be reasonably interesting. For my $27 fee for golf class, we're going to the driving range for 4 class periods. I'm excited now, but I may be less so in the end of November.
It's been cold and rainy so far this week. Nice, because it finally feels like fall. Not nice, because I'm cold.
| Hopefully, your weekend will be labor-free. I know mine will be. If you work in retail, then it probably won't be.
Perhaps a countdown to celebrate? I think so.
Sixteen hours I will take fall quarter. Fifteen of those hours will be academic. Fourteen is a Safeway dozen. Thirteen months that Jonathan and I have been married. Twelve is dozen to everyone else. Eleven weeks until my parents come visit. Ten Lords a Leaping Nine lives left. Eight is a perfect cube. Seven people who will read this update. Six people left on Project Runway. Five minutes until I go shower. Four months until Christmas. Three classes I am definitely in. (and one for which I'm on the waitlist) Two weeks until the new quarter starts. One day until the birthday of the best dad ever.
Happy Laboring! | | |
| Yay! I'll be in Kansas! I'm really really excited!
We'll be there Friday, August 11 to Thursday August 17. (Well, we'll both be there until Sunday, and then I'm staying until Thursday.)
So....
let me know if you want to do something, particularly after the weekend.
John/Dad are leaving for Arizona sometime Sat or Sun, so all the Moreau's will be together for a few short days. We haven't seen the ol' fam' since the birth of Christ. (2000 years seems like just 8 months.)
Much laughing and fun will be had, probably at the expense of one of us. (John, is that your nipple?)
To conclude: I'm excited. (just in case you missed that part)
In other happenings, I got my library card working. I have a few books for the plane ride, and a few more on hold.
My quarter will be done on Thursday, followed immediately by flights from Seattle to Houston to KC and back.
No school for a month = Susan reading a lot. the library = Susan not going broke reading a lot. Susan reading a lot = Susan taking book recommendations.
Susan = slacker or Susan = slacker no more?
well, I might not go that far, but, I am doing quite excellent in my summer classes, and enjoying being back in school.
except for when I got in trouble in English class. Apparently, I'm too sarcastic. Psh. Can you really ever be too sarcastic?
until i get back on my slacker butt to update again, God Speed John Glenn.
